Thats a wrap on 2026!

12 hours. One massive challenge. One unforgettable day!

The John McGowan 12 Hour Challenge 2026 is officially wrapped! And what a result. From the first step and pedal stroke to the final exhausted push, this day was built on determination, teamwork, and pure grit.

Together, we raised over €33,000, an incredible achievement that will be shared between Infinity Friends, Athlone Samaritans, and Athlone River Safety Awareness. The impact of this day will be felt far beyond the finish line, supporting three organisations doing vital work in our community.

Athlone Samaritans will use the donation to bring awareness to and provide essential support services, Infinity Friends aim to put their funds towards installing a cycle track in their clubhouse garden, creating a safe, inclusive and fun space for the children to learn, play and grow, and Athlone River Safety Awareness plan to invest in a life-saving rescue robot and a fully equipped safety box at Coosan Point to further enhance water safety.

A huge congratulations to every single participant. Whether you took on 2 hours or the full 12, whether you cycled, ran, or somehow managed both, you should be immensely proud.

This challenge was never just about distance or time, it was about showing up, pushing through the tough moments, and turning effort into real, meaningful support for three unbelievably deserving charities.

Also a massive thank you to all our sponsors for their continued support and belief in the impact of this challenge.

What a day.What a challenge.What a result!

See you all next year!
